As an employer do I legally have to provide fire safety training?
As the responsible person for fire safety, you have a legal obligation to provide the following training to your employees:
- Induction training to cover general fire awareness
- Periodic refresher training, or extra training where the level of fire risk increases as a result of changes in your operations
- Training to support people in meeting additional fire safety duties – for example those persons required to test fire alarms weekly or emergency lights monthly
- Training to build appropriate skills such as fire warden or using fire extinguishers
How often do my staff need to be trained?
Staff should be trained on their first day of work, however they should receive ongoing training to ensure that they remain current in their knowledge. This would normally be done on an annual basis - or whenever there has been a significant change in the workplace.
Do I have to keep records of training?
You have a legal obligation to keep full records of all fire safety training that your staff receive.
I have hearing impairment, are your courses accessible for me?
Of course! All of our training courses have inbuilt closed caption subtitles available. Simply click on the cc button in the course.
Do you provide discounts - I need to train my entire workforce?
Of course! The pricing that you see on the website is for individual access to each of the courses. For companies that require training for multiple staff members, we can provide bespoke pricing. Where payment is made centrally, the access to the courses is via a pre-payment code which your staff will receive. Alternatively if you have a spreadhsheet with staff email addresses, we can enrol and inform your staff on your behalf.
